Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing people, suffering from diseases and sickness.. Mathew 4, 23
Jesus does not rest under an olive tree, waiting for people to come and see him. He goes after them. He is looking to search them. He is "on the road" today as well, in order to visit people. He comes to convey the message of the love of God. He comes to tell everyone that he has done everything for us so that we can be with him in eternity. Jesus says: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19, 10)
When it comes to saving human lives, civilized people do everything possible! Remember the salvation of the Thai youth football team in the summer of 2018? Twelve boys between the ages of 13 and 16 and their coach had made a trip to a cave. More precisely, it was a whole cave complex, a labyrinth. And - it was rain season! It ended in a disaster. While the group was in the cave, it was pouring rain. The cave entrance was filled with water. The kids were not able to leave the cave! Now her life was at stake. And the water was rising inexorably. The only escape they could find was to flee into the inner cave from the rising water.
We can suspect what the parents, and the families of these children went through. When parents and grandparents fear for the lives of their children. Terrible!
A huge rescue operation started, a race against time. A total of 1000 people were involved in this rescue operation. All fought for the lives of the children and the coach. Finally, after a long two weeks: it was a miracle. Special divers were saving all the children! All were alive and save. Except for one: a diver suffocated during a life-threatening dive.
People risk their own lives to save others. A whole country does not give away these children, and the whole world is taking part. Everyone is fighting for the lives of the children. Putting some ones own life at stake.
God, our Father in Heaven, does that too. He doesn´t do anything else! He is fighting for the lives of his children! He launches a universal rescue operation for his lost people. I am convinced: all heaven is involved! God starts his bailout, for his beloved children, including you and me and all others, would otherwise all get lost. One dies in this huge rescue operation. Our Lord Jesus Christ lost his life. Voluntary. Out of love he sacrifices himself.
God desperately seeks people who are lost to him. Not because he would just be careless. But because people run away from him. And God is looking for them. We are so precious to God. Every human being has an indescribable value for God. He does not want to lose anyone. We are precious. Our life is precious! Only the devil destroys life. Jesus says (John 8:44): “The devil was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
In the synagogue of Capernaum (Galilee), Jesus heals a man who was possessed by a wicked spirit (Mark 1:21 f). The "enlightened person" of our time denies demon and describes it as nonsense, as superstition. Anyone who has ever visited a concentration camp such as Auschwitz or Buchenwald and saw the unimaginable horrors that "so called members of the master – race” have done to their fellow citizens and fellow human beings, must answer the question, which spirit drove this mischief here. He must answer the question, which powers were behind these acts. Certainly not the spirit of Jesus and the love of God !
At that time, Jesus released people from demonic dependencies. These powers knew who was facing them. In Capernaum they shouted: “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are — the Holy One of God!” Mk. 1:24
Jesus teaches, heals and prays. God's rule begins with him. We Christians should never stop praying for the peace of Christ to spread in our world. And for the Lord Jesus, the Holy One, to save people out of their "den" of lies and wickedness. And we should not get tired of praying for people who are being abused, tortured and put to death even today in the year 2019. These people need our prayers. The world needs your prayer!
I wish you a blessed week and a lot of time to pray.
